Thank you to The Lacabas for sending us to see Edinburgh Castle! She was known as The Pearl of Scotland. We will be able to see this beautiful castle from where we are staying in Old Town, and are looking forward to checking out the gardens and the relics!
...and just for Bob, a little useless trivia:
St. Margaret died in the castle in 1093. Mary Queen of Scots removed St. Margaret's head in 1560, and brought it back to Edinburgh Castle from Dunfermline Abbey to "assist her in childbirth" (gross). It then somehow ended up in France, but was lost during the French Revolution. The rest of the remains were brought to Spain by Phillip II, but cannot be found. Mary was beheaded by her cousin, Queen Elizabeth, in 1587.
